This testing option is a legal test. A legal chain of custody must be established. An unbiased third-party collector must collect samples. All DNA samples are tested and analyzed by our partner AABB-accredited lab. This accreditation ensures that your results will be recognized in court and by all state agencies nationwide.
Please note: Non-legal Peace of mind DNA testing services are not offered to New York State residents due the New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidelines. Legal DNA Testing is the only option offered in New York. NYSDOH also requires one of the following document be acquired prior to your DNA testing appointment being scheduled.
- A letter from a NYS licensed family law or immigration attorney request the participants be tested.
- A prescription referral from a NYS licensed doctor requesting DNA testing for all parties involved with your test.
- A court order from a judge requesting a DNA test be performed.

What is method is used to collect my DNA samples?
The standard method for collecting DNA specimens is sterilized cheek swabs. Blood sample collection provides the same accuracy as cheek swab collection. Blood collection is more painful and invasive than cheek swab collection.

All DNA specimens and results remain private. Specimens are retained for three months before destruction.
DNA results release occurs only to the participants involved in your DNA test. An unrelated third party receives results only if a court order is presented to the lab. The lab will notify the client before releasing results.
