DNA TESTING WITH A TOOTHBRUSH
What is Toothbrush Paternity Test?
DNA testing with a toothbrush is a forensic DNA test. This test determines the biological relationship between an alleged father and child, a mother and child, siblings, or a grandparent and grandchild.
Toothbrush sample submission serves as an alternative when an alleged father or child cannot provide samples through cheek swabs.

Frequently Asked Questions About Toothbrush DNA Testing
How long does paternity testing with toothbrush take?
The turnaround time for results is 2 to 3 business days from when the lab receives your toothbrush samples. A physical copy of your results will be mailed to your home. An additional copy will be emailed to you.
Can toothbrush DNA test results be used legally?
No. Legal DNA tests require an unbroken chain of custody. Samples must be collected by an unbiased third-party collector and tested by our partner, an AABB-accredited laboratory. A situation may arise during a legal proceeding where a toothbrush sample is the only item that can prove a biological relationship. This type of forensic DNA test may be used legally, provided it meets the criteria mentioned above.
Are toothbrush DNA tests accurate?
Toothbrush DNA tests can be accurate. The accuracy of the testing process is 95% if the conditions of the toothbrush specimen sample allow the lab to generate a complete profile.
Will my home Toothbrush test results be kept private?
All samples submitted and results remain confidential. Results are released only to the participants involved with the DNA test or by a court order. Before releasing results to a court the client will be notified
